'Cast of Shadows,' by Kevin Guilfoile. When a respected fertility doctor's daughter is killed, he uses the DNA evidence and his experience with cloning to 'regenerate' her killer. It follows the life of the boy and there is just this really cool second world. I liked the mystery and plot. Big surprise finish.

'The Thirteenth Tale,' by Diane Setterfield. Don't ask me how I have managed 5-6 times in a row to find myself reading a book within a book. I go to my shelf and grab one that catches my eye. 'The End of Mr. Y,' by Scarlett Thomas. I can't exactly tell you what this book is about other than to say that out of the last four books I've read, three of them were kind of book-within-a-book dealios.
